21 Week Pregnancy Update - Baby #2!

 **Baby at 18 weeks**
**Baby at 21 weeks**

**Our Little Bo Peep**

How far along?
21 Weeks

Total weight gain/measurements:
My weight is the same from my first prenatal visit... So I'm going to say that I haven't gained any weight yet!

Maternity clothes:
In need of! Even though I haven't gained any weight, my belly is a lot bigger than when I was pregnant with Hunter. My regular clothes are starting to get too tight, especially pants. I can no longer do up the bottom on any of my jeans, meanwhile I wore all my pre-pregnancy clothes right until the end with Hunter! & My shirts are all starting to get too short due to the fact I have such a long torso.

Stretch marks:
No new ones....Yet.

Sleep:
Terrible. Hunter doesn't sleep through the night, so that interrupts my sleep ALL night... When I do get the chance to lay down, I cant stay in one position for too long. I find myself tossing and turning a lot.

Best moment this week:
I just came from a second ultrasound so I got to see my baby again! Normally, where I live, they only do 1 ultrasound (the anatomy scan) when you're in your second trimester. They didn't get a good enough picture of her heart or kidneys the last time (baby was moving lots and wouldn't stay in a good position), so they needed me to come in again. Yay!

Miss anything?
Sleep. I used to sleep so well at night when Hunter was breastfeeding.... But now that he's off the boob and in his own bed, & still not sleeping through the night... It makes for a hard nights rest.

Movement:
Lots now! Movement has really increased over the last week. I would feel flutters and movement inside, but now there's lots of big kicks that can be felt on the outside too.

Food cravings:
I usually crave sugar in the evenings. I looove sugary, sour candies!
Still loving sandwiches and salads... and still always craving a Spicy Italian from Subway! I could probably eat a foot long sub once a day... Can someone fund my Subway addiction please?

Anything making you queasy or sick?
Morning sickness still! Every morning, sometimes a bit in the evenings, and if I have to get up out of bed in the middle of the night. I'm pretty much just nauseas all day. So much for that blissful second trimester!
Oh, also, red meat... Not a fan anymore. I'm all about the chicken and pretty much nothing else.

Gender:
ITS A GIRL!
I knew she was going to be a girl before I even got pregnant! At our first ultrasound, the tech said she wasn't 100% sure, but she was going with "girl".... Thankfully I had a second ultrasound and it was definitely confirmed that she is in fact, a girl!

Labour signs:
None

Symptoms:
Morning sickness is still a big one
Lots of kicks
Lower back pain
Starting to get a bit winded while doing minimal exercise a.k.a chasing after my 1 and a half year old

Belly button in or out?
Still in

Happy or moody most of the time:
Moody for SURE

Looking forward to:
Buying baby girl clothes!
& also buying Hunter his new big boy bed!

17 Week Pregnancy Update - Baby #2!

How far along?
17 Weeks + 4 days

Total weight gain/measurements:
Ive been continuously losing weight and then slowly gaining it back since I got pregnant.. I'm currently 1 lb heavier then I was at my first prenatal appointment (at 9 weeks)... So not much change there.

Maternity clothes:
Nope

Stretch marks:
No new ones

Sleep:
I have to wake up to pee a couple times a night... & Hunter has been having a bit of a hard time sleeping lately, so that has been affecting my sleep greatly...

Best moment this week:
The first big baby movement happened today!
& when my mom showed me the adorable project she's working on for the gender reveal!

Miss anything?
My family :( Dying to go home!

Movement:
Felt little flutters since maybe 13 weeks... But today was the first solid kick where I was like "Oh yes.. that was definitely my baby!"

Food cravings:
Sandwiches. I could eat a variety of sandwiches and salads all day and be the happiest kid. I'm REALLY craving a Spicy Italian on cheese bread from Subway though.

Anything making you queasy or sick?
I'm still nauseas every single morning. I throw up usually once a day... but sometimes I do get a bit nauseas in the evenings too.

Gender:
Crossing our fingers for a girl! 7 more days until the ultrasound!

Labour signs:
None

Symptoms:
Starting to not be able to do up the button on a lot of my pants... Haha!
Still have morning sickness.
I get light headed and dizzy sometimes.. and cramps in my legs... but I think I can put that on the fact that I haven't been drinking enough water lately. When you go pee 37 times before lunch time, you don't get too eager to drink MORE water... Haha

Belly button in or out?
In but I have a feeling its going to pop out sooner then my first pregnancy

Happy or moody most of the time:
Moody as all hell. So emotional, so stressed, so everything. Plus with the heat on top of it all, and lack of sleep. Oy.

Looking forward to:
Next week! We have our ultrasound on Wednesday!!!!
& then my wonderful friend Leila and her husband are arriving that weekend for their vacation! (Which I'm going to try include myself in at all times... hahah :))

13 Weeks Pregnancy Update - Baby #2!

How far along?
13 Weeks

Total weight gain:
Ive been losing and gaining since I got pregnant.. So I'm not too sure what my weight is now in comparison to when I got pregnant.

Maternity clothes:
Still wearing my regular clothes, and probably will be for awhile. I lost weight before I got pregnant, and lost another 8 lbs while being pregnant, so all my clothes have a bit of wiggle room now. I still plan on buying some maternity leggings, at least 1 pair of jeans, and a couple tank tops. Those were the things I needed the most last time around!

Stretch marks:
Nothing new yet!

Sleep:
I wish I could sleep all day. If I didn’t already have a baby to take care of, I would nap at 11am and 4pm. I get so exhausted right around those times.

Best moment this week:
Bo and I made a decision about our future & we’re VERY excited about it!!

Miss anything?
Alcohol sometimes.. and mostly because it’s summer…. There’s nothing like having a nice cold drink on a hot summer day!

Movement:
I swear I felt movement! I don’t know if it is, because I’m still in my first trimester… But I swear it was the baby!

Food cravings:
Mozza sticks! I eat mozza sticks more often then Id like to admit. Also, pickles. Mmmmm

Anything making you queasy or sick?
Ever since I went to the emergency room a few weeks ago, my nausea has been at an all time low! I get sick once in the morning, and then I’m good for the rest of the day. So much more tolerable then the all day, everyday sickness I was experiencing.
The seafood & meat section in the grocery store makes my stomach turn.

Gender:
I’ll know in under 6 weeks! But mothers intuition tells me I’m carrying our baby girl!

Labour signs:
No

Symptoms:
Just a little bit of nausea first thing in the morning.
Glowing skin! My skin has never looked better!
Still so fatigued.

Belly button in or out?
In

Happy or moody most of the time:
Lately, happy!

Looking forward to:
The gender ultrasound even though its over a month away! & then possibly announcing the name, if we are in fact, having a girl!

9 Week Pregnancy Update with Baby #2!

Well hello, hello pregnancy updates round 2! How exciting! We found out were expecting baby #2 about a month ago and couldn't wait to share the news with family and friends! It's funny how last time I was pregnant, I didn't want to let anyone know until I was at least 12 weeks, but this time I think we kept the news to ourselves for maybe a week? We had planned to conceive this baby, so we were very excited to see that positive test the first month of trying! Were very happy to be expanding our family and making Hunter a big brother!
How far along?
9 weeks!
Current due date is January 13/2017 which happens to be on a Friday.

Total weight gain:
I'm pretty certain I've lost weight.. I don't have a scale but I finally was weighed at the NP's office today, so I'll know for future updates what I've gained.

Maternity clothes:
Not yet, but I'm definitely going to buy some for this time around... Nothing fancy or brand new, just whatever I can get second hand. I wore all my regular clothes when I was pregnant with Hunter, but the 3 maternity tops I did have, were so nice! I have a long torso, so if I wasn't wearing a long tank top under my shirt, my belly would be popping out the bottom.

Stretch marks:
Nothing new yet... But I'm sure they'll make their appearance later on & that's okay. They can join the millions of others on my belly and hips. I actually don't mind stretch marks at all. They have never really made me self conscious... Which I'm thankful for. After I became a mom, I became much more humble and gentle towards my body.... In turn, I ended up seeing my new mom pouch and stretch marks as just another part of motherhood! Plus all the stretched skin on my belly is so soft, and Hunter loves hugging it <3

Sleep:
Well I still breastfeed throughout the night with Hunter, and he is usually in my bed somewhere between 12am and 4am....So my sleep is as good as it can get for now. Until the big ol belly appears.. Dun dun dunnnnnnnnn.

Best moment this week:
When I asked Hunter "Where is the baby?"... He pointed to my belly and then hugged it.
I should also mention he's 14 months old & we've never showed him where the baby is before. So it was pretty darn adorable.. It may or may not have made me cry a little bit.

Miss anything?
My energy. As well as not having morning sickness. Blaaahhhhhh.

Movement:
Nope. I felt Hunter at 17 weeks, and then Bo felt him just a couple days later, so I'm interested to see when I'll start feeling this little one flutter around.

Food cravings:
I don't have constant cravings, but I'll get a random "Ohhhh, I want that!". One of those was a pizza with mushrooms and onions - which is something I would never ever ordinarily order..... & the other was mini rainbow chip Chips Ahoy cookies!

Anything making you queasy or sick?
Oh you know, just waking up... breathing.. The morning sickness is sooooo rotten this time around. I thought I had it bad with Hunter, but oh my. I've had to stop drinking coffee because I got sick before I would even finish a cup... Also grocery shopping in the raw meat section always turns my stomach.

Gender:
No idea. I have an ultrasound booked for August 17th & I'll be almost 19 weeks then, so we'll know the gender then! We're feeling girl this time <3

Labour signs:
Goodness no.

Symptoms:
Extreme fatigue and nausea. It's 10x worse than it was with Hunter.. It's kind of incredible how tired a woman can get during that first trimester. It's unreal!

Belly button in or out?
In!

Happy or moody most of the time:
Very happy to be pregnant, but for the most part, I'm so MOOOODDDYYYY. I blame it on being sick all day. It really takes a toll on a person when you can't even bounce your baby to sleep or sing him songs because you mouth being open makes you want to puke.

Looking forward to:
Well, I want to say my ultrasound... but that's forever away... So I'm going to say my next prenatal which is on the 28th! Excited to hear this little one's heart beat!

What I Learned About Pregnancy

Now that I'm 1 month postpartum, I thought I would do a little post on what I learned about pregnancy. This is obviously just in regards to my own pregnancy, as we all know, each pregnancy is different in their own way. These are just my thoughts and opinions!
17 weeks

1. Pregnancy waddle is real. It's crazy how much your hips want to be ahead of the rest of your body when you're standing, or walking. Plus it doesn't help that it feels like there's a head in-between your legs!
2. Cravings are also real. Kit Kat Chunky's, Creme Eggs, & Cherry Sours have never held such a special place in my heart.
18 weeks
3. It's really hard not to compare yourself to other fellow preggos.. but try your best not to and remember that this is your own personal, unique journey!
4. You may get the weirdest, most inconvenient pregnancy symptoms, such as carpal tunnel, jumpy legs or blurred vision... & you might have them all at once.
20 weeks
5. You may feel extra confident with your baby belly & take a million photos of it.
6. Climbing stairs and hills gets real challenging in the later months.
24 weeks
7. You may pee yourself a little while brushing your teeth/tongue due to sensitive gag reflex.
8. You may change up your wardrobe to sports bras and leggings once things stop fitting.
26 weeks
9. The first trimester is brutal. If you're one of the special ones who didn't get sick, consider yourself lucky. I was nauseas and threw up everyday for 14 weeks... but then it was like a light switch & I wanted to eat everything!
10. The first time you feel the baby move, is amazing... but the first time I saw my boyfriend feel the baby move, was so emotional.
29 weeks
11. You're really not as "big" as you think you are. I've been looking back through my belly photos, and I really wasn't as huge as I or anyone else thought I was!
12. The gender ultrasound is so fun! We knew we wanted to find out what we were having right away.. Having the ultrasound tech show us his "parts" was so emotional! All I could say was "it's a boy!!!" & then tears started falling. It was the first time I cried at an appointment.
34 weeks
13. You may think you're in the clear for stretch marks, but truth is, you probably just can't see them on that part of your body. You'll see the reality of it once the baby is out.
14. Emotions change on a dime.
38 weeks
15. It's not as hot as you think it is. Careful not to freeze your boyfriend by opening windows and turning off the heat in the car, during the winter months.
16. Pregnancy is really not that glamorous at times.... Consider it preparation for the also not so glam labour & birth.
38 weeks
 17. You will miss your belly after you give birth.
18. You never really get used to your belly sticking out so far. I grazed mine on doors, walls, and the fridge countless times.
40 weeks
19. Epsom salts & lavender bubble bath is a treat for the tired, aching body.
20. 9 [10] months of pregnancy doesn't prepare you for the overwhelming feeling of love when you see your baby for the first time.
40 weeks & 5 days

Bump Update - 40+41 Weeks

-40 Weeks-
-41 Weeks-

 How far along?
Currently 41 weeks... I neglected to post a 40 week bump update and now I have no idea what happened when.. So I'm merging it into one post.

Total weight gain/measurements:
Sitting at a whopping 58lb weight gain. Ah well.. whatchya gunna do. I enjoyed every single calorie ;)

Maternity clothes:
Nothing new. My wardrobe basically consists of underwear and tank tops or Bo's t-shirts.

Stretch marks:
Oh yes... new ones have appeared. I was sad at first.. but now I don't really care. I guess thats what happens when you gain 58 lbs in 41 weeks.

Sleep:
Awful. It is literally so physically hard to sleep. I can't roll over without being in pain. My pelvis and hips ache like crazy. My legs cramp up all the time. Theres no sugar coating this. Sleep sucks.

Best moment this week:
Getting an induction date! It's really come to the point where I need this baby out now. Between my pulled groin/aching pelvis pain & these EFFING WRISTS!!!!!!!!! [they are clearly just getting worse and not better] It's nice to have a day where I know things are going to happen. Tomorrow [Sunday] I'll get 2 doses of the cervical gel... & then if I haven't gone into labour yet, I'll be induced on Monday  morning with Oxytocin. I was really hoping to go into labour on my own... but again, watchya gunna do.

Miss anything?
Not being pregnant. I miss being able to do anything with my hands, standing up and sitting down,  and breathing like a normal person. I miss not being winded from walking to the bathroom.... Not peeing every 2 seconds. I sound so bitter.. but this is real life right now.

Movement:
Yup. Still lots of movement considering he's probably like 10 lbs by now.
Still hiccuping about 3 times a day.

Food cravings:
I get cravings for sweets in the evening.

Anything making you queasy or sick?
Not eating every couple hours

Gender:
A stubborn boy.

Labour signs:
Lost my mucus plug Tuesday night.
Nauseas and vomitting for like 10 minutes Wednesday night.
That's pretty much it.

Symptoms:
Aching lower back and belly.
Burning wrists joints.... I woke up this morning and one of my fingers on each hand was completely locked up.
Lightning crotch.
I'm 41 weeks and feeling like a hippo.... you can guess my symptoms at this point.

Belly button in or out?
Out

Happy or moody most of the time:
Moody!

Looking forward to:
Getting this baby earth side!
My birthday - Baby H's Due date

Bump Update - 39 Weeks

How far along?
39 Weeks + 1 day

Total weight gain/measurements:
Weight gain - 58 lbs... oy
Belly is at a total of 47 inches around. Another oy. hahah!

Maternity clothes:
Nothing new... just the same 3 shirts, which have all been a bit too short for a couple months now. I think I've said this before.. but.. long torso problems!

Stretch marks:
I think theres a couple more on each side of my lower belly... Maybe like, 6 total now.

Sleep:
So uncomfortable. It's so hard to turn from one side to another, especially with the awful pubic bone pain. Some nights I'll get a really good sleep with minimal pain, but those nights usually include me waking up every couple hours to go pee.. Cant win em all!

Best moment this week:
Best moment of the week was also the most nerve wracking. I had an OB appointment on Friday.. Just a typical prenatal appt.. But while we were there, we discovered that my blood pressure was super high compared to what it has been the whole pregnancy. I've been at a pretty constant 116/80, but that morning I was at 140/100! So she sent us to the Labour & Delivery ward at the Saint John hospital, which is where I'll be delivering Baby H when it's time. There, they wanted to do blood work and monitor the baby for a little while.... and if things didn't get any better, they were going to induce me!
Turns out, everything was fine. The resident OB there came back to talk to me and said the baby was PERFECT and my blood work came back PERFECT. My blood pressure also dropped while I was there. That was so nice to hear.
They also checked my hands and feet, which have been concerning me, and they said it was normal. I knew it probably would be normal, but it was nice of them to actually acknowledge my concerns, as my regular OB tends to brush off every single concern I have.
In the end, I was obviously super relieved that everything was ok [which I knew it would be], & it was kind of nice to go there and do a "practice run". We had all our bags packed and in the trunk of the car just in case they needed to induce me. We did all the tests right in the Labour & Delivery ward, so it was nice to see that, and exactly where I'll need to go once its actually go time! Plus the staff was all so incredibly nice! Which is obviously a huge bonus!

Miss anything?
Normal sleep. I miss being able to roll over & lay on my belly.
The other day, I finally said the words "I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore...". I really miss having my body to myself. I know I'm still going to have to share, with breastfeeding, but at least I'll be able to hold him on the outside of my body! I think I managed to keep patient for a really long time, considering I got a million symptoms, and quite a lot of them were painful symptoms!

Movement:
Still squirming away in there. I can tell his living quarters are getting a bit small for him. Any time he moves, he hits a nerve somewhere around my cervix, which sends a shooting pain all around that area. "Lighting crotch" is putting it mildly. I've noticed he has started to calm down a bit more too. Still moving lots, but not as much as before. Which I believe is quite normal at this stage of pregnancy. It also kind of feels like his legs have moved to the other side of my belly? I used to get kicked a bunch on my right side, now its more on my left. Bo says "well, as long as he's still upside down!" haha which I guess, technically, would make him right side up, since he should be staying head down!

Food cravings:
Creme Eggs! Mmmm I still haven't gotten my hands on a Creme Egg McFlurry... Soon!
I also had a serious craving for bannock and jam yesterday... but it didn't last long.
I've also really been wanting chicken caesar wraps!

Anything making you queasy or sick?
Nope

Gender:
Boy!

Labour signs:
Im going to say no. I literally don't feel any different! Besides him being low, theres no change.

Symptoms:
Heartburn
Lightning crotch
Lower back & belly pain.
Possible Braxton Hicks? It's so hard to tell if you've never had them before... It's always just been a guessing game for me when it comes to Braxton Hicks. I had a crazy pain in my belly yesterday. My whole stomach tightened up and it felt like it was burning! Everyone says that BH or real contractions  feel like period cramps, but this pain most definitely did NOT feel like that... and it only happened twice and stopped.
I also had a couple days where I got, what felt like a running cramp, right at the top of my uterus? Maybe that was Braxton Hicks? I have no idea.

Belly button in or out?
It's trying so hard to come all the way out hahah! I'm going to just go ahead and say that it's out... Theres a little part of the bottom that doesn't stick out, but the majority of it is out there :P

Happy or moody most of the time:
This week was happy! Still quite emotional though... My mood changes on a dime!

Looking forward to:
Meeting this baby boy! Friday was quite the eye opener when we realized we could have been induced that day if my blood pressure didn't go down, or if baby was in distress. Now I'm in SERIOUS nesting mode, making sure everything is ready before he does decide to make his arrival.... Which is kind of hard to do because I'm feeling super pregnant, & it almost feels like I'm bringing on contractions when I start to move around a bunch, like I did yesterday. On Friday, we were supposed to go to Saint John kind of ASAP... but we still had so many last minute things to do! So now I'm trying to get on top of it all, because guess what? You're really not pregnant forever. The baby eventually comes out!

Oh I also think I'll be doing a "What's In My Hospital Bag" blog post.... You know, now that it's completely packed. Haha!

Look at how swollen those feet are... Gah!

7.3.15

Bump Update - 38 Weeks

How far along?
38 weeks!

Total weight gain/measurements:
Weight gain, I'm not sure.
Measurement around my belly is still 46 inches

Maternity clothes:
No new ones

Stretch marks:
Just the same 2 on my lower belly

Sleep:
I seem to only wake up once a night to pee! I wake up multiple times because turning over is no easy task with this belly, broken pelvis [not really, it just feels that way], & carpal tunnelled wrists.... but I usually fall asleep right away, once I get into a new position.

Best moment this week:
Getting the car seat and stroller!!!! Woooo!!!

Getting almost ALL my things for my hospital bag nice and organized! Just waiting for a package from my mom & I'll be all set to get that bag packed! I have things in ziploc bags and travel containers all nice and labeled, and ready to go. Ahh organization <3

Oh I also got all the things for my baths again - epsom salts & bubble bath... plus I got these bath bombs from a local soap store. OMG smells amazing and feels so nice!

Miss anything?
Laying on my belly.. Although I've been able to kinda lay on my belly in the tub, which has been helping. I also miss being able to bend over... or walk without my feet hurting.

Movement:
Food cravings:
I actually don't think there has been any cravings this week! Having said that, I did just say that I wanted a donut. Which is weird, since I don't like donuts....oh and Creme Eggs.. Which is also weird. Today I am on a mission to get the Creme Egg McFlurry.

Anything making you queasy or sick?
I WAS sick for like 3 days. I would get sick for about an hour a night.... but that stopped.

Gender:
Boy!

Labour signs:
He's dropped again, so there's lots of pressure!
I was sick for a few days, which made me think my body was starting to get ready.... but like I said, that stopped.

Symptoms:
The restless legs have gone away THANK GOD... but they've been getting pretty crampy in the middle of the night, which is kind of uncomfortable, but as long as I wake up fast enough, I can stop the serious cramp from coming on.
Wrists are progressively getting worse...
My feet and hands are swollen! I hardly even have knuckles anymore!

Belly button in or out?
Almost all the way out!

Happy or moody most of the time:
Happy! Although, rather emotional. I cry at least once a day... but usually more then once.

Looking forward to:
Getting packages from my mom! I know theres 2 coming & it's like Christmas waiting for them. Haha!
